For sending messages to elected US representatives.
You can send e-mail to The President and the The Vice-President directly. Just type or paste in your message.
If you know who your Senator or Congressperson is, go to Juan Cabanela's Contacting the 104th Congress site. If your representative has e-mail, you can send a message by clicking on the address, then typing or pasting it in. Otherwise you can obtain postal addresses and fax and voice numbers. If you are using a browser like Lynx or AOL's that doesn't read tables, try this version instead. If none of these work, there are further resources available.
If you don't know who your Senator or Congressperson is, you may be able to find out and send an e-mail message at the same time using Stardot.com's "Zipper." If you can't find out who represents you via the Zipper, then try here for more resources.
If Stardot.com's "Zipper" did not work, try entering your Zip Code and/or you county and state in the US Congressional Directory. You can also call a library or any congressional office in you area. Finally, you might try calling calling 1-800-444-1555 on a touch tone phone and enter any zip code when prompted. You can connect directly to an elected official's office then, or hang up and send a letter. This service can only be used three times from any one phone number (but there are lots of public phones). It is sponsored by Exxon with the intent of aiding calls supporting environmental deregulation. You can use it to discuss any issue you like, however.
